RF / Microwave Engineer

As an RF/Microwave Engineer, you will design, simulate, prototype, and validate RF front-end circuits for high-performance datalink systems operating in sub-6 GHz and microwave frequency bands. You will develop signal chain architectures including power amplifiers, low-noise amplifiers, mixers, filters, and frequency synthesis stages to ensure robust and reliable communication links.

About the Role

Join our engineering team to develop advanced RF subsystems for next-generation datalink platforms. You will focus on RF circuit design and system integration, working closely with antenna, DSP, mechanical, and software teams to deliver high-performance communication hardware.

This role combines circuit design, system-level analysis, hands-on lab validation, and automated test development in a fast-paced engineering environment.

Responsibilities
  • Design and simulate RF front-end circuits across RF and microwave frequency bands

  • Develop power amplifier stages, low-noise amplifiers, mixers, filters, and frequency generation circuits

  • Perform RF cascade analysis including gain, noise figure, linearity, stability, and dynamic range

  • Conduct link budget analysis and support system-level RF performance optimization

  • Create circuit-level and system-level simulations using industry-standard RF design tools

  • Design schematics and support PCB layout for high-frequency circuits

  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to integrate RF subsystems into complete datalink systems

  • Develop validation and production test methodologies for RF hardware

  • Perform lab characterization using network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and related instrumentation

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related discipline

  • 3+ years of industry or research experience in RF/microwave circuit design

  • Experience designing RF signal chain components such as PAs, LNAs, mixers, filters, or PLLs

  • Strong understanding of impedance matching, S-parameters, noise figure, linearity, stability, and RF system fundamentals

  • Experience with RF test equipment (VNA, spectrum analyzer, signal generator, power meters)

  • Experience with RF simulation tools such as ADS, AWR, or similar

Nice to Have
  • Experience designing high-linearity or high-efficiency power amplifiers

  • Experience with RF system-level modeling and link analysis

  • Familiarity with digital modulation schemes (QPSK, QAM, APSK) and their RF implications

  • Experience with PCB schematic and layout tools (Altium or equivalent)

  • Experience developing automated RF test solutions

  • Experience working in datalink or high-reliability communication systems
