Brand & Marketing Manager (m/f/d)

Full-time employee or senior freelance retainer

The Mission

European security is at a turning point. The war in Ukraine has shown that unmanned systems are the decisive factor on the modern battlefield. But these platforms are only as effective as the data links that control them. That is where we come in: we build resilient, scalable data links for UAVs. The technology is ready. Now we need the communication to match. We are looking for a senior Brand & Marketing Manager who can build and own the entire external presence of ZeroPhase — from corporate identity to content strategy to the way we show up in front of customers, partners, and investors.

The Role

This is a founding-team-level marketing role. You will be the first dedicated marketing hire at ZeroPhase, reporting directly to the founders. You will build our brand infrastructure from scratch — corporate language, visual identity, website, templates, and content — and own it ongoing. There is no existing team to slot into and no playbook to follow. You bring the strategy, you execute it, and you hold yourself accountable to results. We are open to this role as a full-time position or as a senior freelance retainer for the right profile — what matters is ownership and output, not the contract structure.

Core Responsibilities

Brand & Corporate identity

  • Define and own ZeroPhase's visual identity, corporate language, and brand positioning

  • Build a scalable brand system — guidelines, templates, and assets — that the entire team can apply independently

  • Ensure consistency across all external touchpoints: website, decks, proposals, events, and partner materials

Content & Communications

  • Own the LinkedIn content strategy and execution — regular posts, thought leadership, and company announcements

  • Translate complex RF, SDR, and UAV data link topics into compelling narratives for defense, government, and investor audiences

  • Develop and maintain ZeroPhase's editorial tone of voice across all written communication

Website & Digital presence

  • Take full ownership of zerophase.de — content, structure, messaging, and ongoing improvements

  • Drive SEO and discoverability for relevant defense and deep tech audiences

  • Coordinate with external developers or agencies where needed for technical implementation

Sales enablement & BD support

  • Produce high-quality sales collateral — one-pagers, pitch decks, capability briefs — in close collaboration with the BD team

  • Support trade show presence, conference materials, and event communications

  • Align marketing output with the commercial pipeline and key target accounts

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in brand management, marketing, or communications — ideally in a B2B tech, deep tech, or industrial context

  • Proven track record of building or significantly evolving a brand from an early stage

  • Strong visual and editorial judgment — you can write, design, and direct agencies

  • Proficient in Figma or Adobe Creative Suite; comfortable owning a CMS (Webflow, WordPress, or similar)

  • Fluent in English; German is a strong plus

  • Comfortable operating with high autonomy in an environment where structure does not yet exist

  • Genuine understanding of — or serious interest in — defense technology, dual-use hardware, or sovereign systems
